Apple Cinnamon Infused Water

Apple Cinnamon Infused Water

IMG_4934When I think of Fall flavors I think of apples & cinnamon, oh and Pumpkin too. but I don’t think pumpkin infused water would be good. Anyway one of my favorite things to spruce up my water is infusing it with fruit. This week I am all about apples and cinnamon, so I thought I’d make my water rock with it. Did you know cinnamon is great for regulating your blood sugar and improving alertness and concentration. I certainly need help there so more cinnamon it is. This recipe is super simple to make and can be enjoyed any time of the year.

Ingredients:

32 oz Recipe -I like to use a Ball jar and a Cuppow lid :

1/4 Organic Apple I like Honeycrisp or Gala, sliced thin (more surface area for juices flavor to seep out for ultimate infusing)

1 Cinnamon stick

Directions:

Place thin sliced apples in 32 oz container(preferably glass) and cinnamon stick cover with cold water immediately to keep the apple slices from browning. place in fridge and let sit and infuse Infuse for 8-24 hours. With apples, they don’t infuse as fast as some other fruits so I like to go a bit longer to get the flavor out. Also before serving with infusing often times it’s a good idea to let it sit for about 30 min at room temp, this helps to draw more flavor out.

You can usually get a second infusing out of the bottle too if you refill it about 2/3rds of the way down. I do this with all  my infusing to get the most out of it. Just throw it back in the fridge for a few hours and it will be just as good as the first infusion.

Enjoy!
